Position Overview: Biomedical Technician 2

The University of Miami UHealth/SoLé Mia is set to deliver exceptional academic medicine to the surrounding communities. Our dedicated team of healthcare professionals will encompass a diverse array of specialties, including a nationally recognized cancer center and a top-tier eye hospital. The facility will also provide advanced urologic treatments and high-quality care from esteemed neurology and neurosurgery programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct installation, maintenance, calibration, and repair of biomedical equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Oversee recall and safety alert programs for medical devices, ensuring compliance with patient safety standards.
  • Effectively prioritize workload and complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Maintain accurate documentation related to medical equipment.
  • Order necessary parts and supplies for the servicing of medical devices.
  • Provide cross-training for less experienced technicians in testing, calibrating, operating, and troubleshooting biomedical systems.
  • Document and report all operational errors and safety concerns related to medical equipment.
  • Maintain and update the medical equipment technical library as needed.
  • Supervise external vendor services to ensure quality and compliance with service agreements.
  • Inspect incoming equipment for adherence to codes, standards, and manufacturer specifications.
  • Adhere to university policies and procedures while safeguarding university assets.

Core Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Attitudes:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing assignments.
  • Ability to analyze, organize, and prioritize tasks under pressure while meeting deadlines.
  • Discretion in processing and handling confidential information.
  • Willingness to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
