The Account Executive is a key position at Matson Logistics, responsible for generating revenue through the performance of domestic intermodal and highway brokerage services. This role requires a self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with internal teams to create customized transportation solutions for customers.
Key Responsibilities- Secure new business and preserve existing relationships with customers to drive revenue growth and favorable profit margins.
- Identify new business prospects and establish goals and objectives for obtaining invitations to bid on and secure business.
- Engage in activities such as approved travel and customer entertainment to increase market share, business volumes, and corresponding margins within the G&A budget guidelines.
- Act as a team leader and work effectively with internal teams to create customized transportation solutions for customers that are cost-effective and reasonably supportable by ML processes.
- Provide timely follow-up to customers, utilizing effective internal and external communications.
- Complete all sales and activity reports thoroughly and provide requested data on a timely basis.
- Effectively work with customers to set realistic customer expectations, clearly define customer requirements, and communicate them effectively within ML.
- Manage customer accessorial processes and work with finance to ensure timely collection of amounts due.
- High school degree or GED and five (5) or more years of transportation sales experience required.
- Ability and willingness to travel on a regular basis, as needed.
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in Business, Marketing, Transportation, or a related field.
