Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Blast and Paint Supervisor to join our team at Transco Railway Products, Inc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective execution of blast and paint activities, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Coaching: Provide guidance, mentorship, and leadership to hourly employees in the blast and paint department, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Quality and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including OSHA, AAR, and FRA, and maintain a safe working environment by conducting regular training and reviews.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with the Repair Manager to identify opportunities for process enhancements, resulting in increased efficiency and productivity.
  • Inventory Management: Work closely with the Material Manager to maintain optimal inventory levels, minimizing waste and excess inventory.
  • Employee Development: Participate in employee interviews, new hire orientation, and performance evaluations, contributing to the growth and development of team members.
  • Audit and Compliance: Engage in internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to company and customer requirements.
  • Documentation and Discipline: Maintain accurate records and submit corrective discipline as needed.
  • Production Meetings: Provide regular updates on rail car progress and direct subordinates' daily activities.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Knowledge and Experience: Proven experience in rail car inspections, testing, and repair; knowledge of Federal Railroad Administration regulations and Association of American Railroads Interchange Rules.
  • Skills and Abilities: Ability to read prints and drawings, including weld and nondestructive testing symbols; strong leadership and communication skills.
