Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Patient Service Representative to join our team at University Hospitals Urgent Care. As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in ensuring a positive and efficient experience for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet patients and provide instructions in a polite and professional manner
  • Analyze health insurance benefits and verify eligibility
  • Collect co-pays and balances, and perform various front office duties
  • Maintain the reception area and perform clerical tasks
  • Determine and collect each patient's financial responsibility
  • Assist the practice manager and other staff as required
  • Provide overall support for Physicians and office operations
  • Obtain and document patient history
  • Understand and enforce standard healthcare regulatory requirements
  • Collect and maintain patient and business documents while maintaining confidentiality
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer at least one year experience in a medical office or emergency room setting
  • Urgent care experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to work 8am to 8pm 3 days/week, rotating weekends and holidays
  • Experience with insurance eligibility and co-pay determination
