Position Overview:
We are in search of a motivated scientist adept at overcoming the challenges linked to cutting-edge discoveries. The ideal candidate will seamlessly integrate into a global and multidisciplinary team of researchers, engage in diverse research domains, and collaborate cross-functionally with the Immuno-Oncology and Virology teams to utilize crystallography for elucidating crucial molecular structures, generating high-quality proteins, and contributing to the formulation and progression of novel therapeutic strategies.
This scientist will play a pivotal role in our research and development initiatives, demonstrating adaptability and responsiveness to evolving circumstances. From urgent research projects to critical experimental tasks, this team member will execute their responsibilities with efficiency and effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize crystallography expertise to determine crystal structures of essential targets/molecules, including protein crystallography, initial screening, crystal quality enhancement, data acquisition, and structural elucidation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Immuno-Oncology and Virology teams to produce proteins, including designing methodologies and executing the purification of proteins of therapeutic significance to provide high-quality materials for advancing drug discovery efforts.
- Engage with biologists, biophysicists, biochemists, structural biologists, and medicinal chemists to develop comprehensive strategies ensuring target viability and addressing specific project requirements.
- Establish protocols for characterizing target proteins for small molecule interactions.
Qualifications:
- Master's or PhD degree in Structural Biology or Protein Biochemistry.
- 3-5 years of professional experience as a bench scientist in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
- Proficient in Protein Purification across various expression systems using multiple techniques.
- Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience in enzymology and crystallization methodologies (co-crystallization, seeding, cross-seeding, soaking, harvesting, and freezing).
- Familiarity with chemistry and protein computational techniques.
- Exhibit a proactive attitude and flexibility to adapt as research and development priorities evolve.
