Job Summary

PBF Energy is seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Specialist to join our team at our Martinez Refinery in California. As a pivotal member of our Technical organization, you will play a key role in maintaining the reliability and efficiency of our Distributed Control System (DCS).

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Provide technical and maintenance support for refinery DCS, ensuring stable control of process operations and data for environmental monitoring.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine and reactive maintenance on OT systems, including DCS servers, operator stations, network switches, virtual machine infrastructure, and cabling.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair control system hardware and software, including software debugging and device and component replacement.
  • Assessment and Reporting: Assess and report on control system hardware and network status using system and security logs and third-party management tools.
  • Planning and Obsolescence Management: Participate in planning and obsolescence management of the refinery's OT virtual machine host infrastructure.
  • Documentation and Maintenance: Maintain documentation, including network architecture diagrams, fiber panel layouts, fiber strand allocations, disaster recovery, and cyber incident response plans and associated site procedures.
Requirements
  • Work Schedule: Occasionally, an altered work schedule over an extended period may be required (maintenance outages and turnarounds). Participation in callout/standby coverage.
  • Physical Requirements: Climb ladders, walk up and down steps, lift 50 pounds.
  • Working Conditions: Work at heights, work in compact and confined spaces, outside in inclement weather.
  • Qualifications: 2 years of experience as a control system technician or OT network administrator in an industrial setting. High school diploma or G.E.D.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Additional Experience: Additional years of experience as a control system technician. Technical work experience in a refinery or petrochemical plant.
  • Technical Skills: Computer programming skills in Visual BASIC, troubleshooting and repairing Honeywell and other DCS equipment, network security administration experience, including tools such as Solarwinds and Claroty, Cisco managed switch configuration, virtual machine infrastructure support on VMWare platform.
