The Kelly Group is in search of a Fitter/Welder to join our team, focusing on projects within the industrial sector. Candidates should possess their own hand tools and have a minimum of 2 to 3 years of relevant experience, particularly in the processing of pipes.

This role entails the following key responsibilities:

  • Assemble piping systems through precise measuring, cutting, bending, shaping, threading, soldering, and gluing using various hand tools and equipment.
  • Interpret and analyze blueprints, process flow diagrams, sketches, and product specifications.
  • Create materials lists by determining the types and sizes of pipes, supports, and associated materials based on job specifications and drawings.
  • Successfully complete a bend test on a 2-inch schedule 160 carbon steel pipe in a 6G position utilizing gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW, TIG, Heliarc) for the root and hot pass, and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW, stick) for the fill and cap to achieve certification.
  • Execute work while adhering to safe work practices.
Additional preferred qualifications include:
  • Completion of OSHA 10-hour or equivalent training.
  • Experience in industrial construction.
  • Knowledge of AWS, ASME, and other welding codes and practices.
  • Willingness to travel, which may involve extended stays away from home.
