YOUR ROLE IN OUR SUCCESS

This position integrates the functions of procurement and customer service. You will generate and manage purchase orders with other Ferrotec facilities to fulfill customer requirements. Responsibilities include sourcing materials and components in alignment with company policies and relevant regulations. Additionally, you will maintain regular communication with designated customers, reviewing their purchase orders and ensuring accurate entry and maintenance within our operational systems, adhering to compliance standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supply Chain Operations
  • Oversee planning and procurement from Ferrotec and external suppliers for essential materials, components, equipment, and services, while managing customer and supplier relationships.
  • Evaluate requisitions, solicit quotations, assess bids, and develop procurement strategies based on supplier performance metrics (quality, cost, delivery, reliability) and product/service value considerations.
  • Build and sustain a supplier base that meets Ferrotec's demand for capacity, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Approve and qualify suppliers in accordance with the Supplier Qualification Process.
  • Collaborate with Planning, Manufacturing, Quality Control, Engineering, Shipping, Receiving, and Sales teams as necessary.
  • Provide backup support for team members as needed.
  • Assist Purchasing management in training and developing team members.
  • Enter purchase orders to the appropriate Ferrotec facilities to support customer needs, ensuring on-time delivery.
  • Initiate external work order processes as required.
  • Audit and process packing lists as necessary.
  • Review weekly backlog reports and follow up on overdue orders.
  • Coordinate shipments with logistics as necessary.
  • Monitor and manage return-to-vendor activities to ensure effective corrective actions.
  • Engage in international communication across various time zones.
  • Travel may be required to visit suppliers or main manufacturers.
Customer Service Excellence
  • Address customer inquiries and maintain high levels of satisfaction.
  • Manage sales orders, bookings, releases, and shipments for assigned customers using Oracle.
  • Monitor consigned inventory at customer sites, manage inventory levels, and expedite replacements as needed.
  • Participate in meetings with customers to discuss scheduling and commercial matters.
  • Collect and distribute customer forecasts to relevant Ferrotec groups.
  • Review customer backlog reports, coordinate with production on ship schedules, and adjust change orders as necessary.
  • Process and track returns and associated credit memos as required.
  • Maintain organized customer files as per company standards.
  • Collaborate with other customer service representatives to ensure compliance with operational requirements.
  • Provide backup support for sales staff and management during absences.
  • Prepare necessary support information for sales and management.
  • Travel may be required to visit assigned customers, potentially outside the USA.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Prepare formal quotes for customers, detailing pricing, terms, and conditions as directed by management.
  • Process Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) as necessary.
  • Collaborate with document control to add new part numbers to the system.
  • Engage in international communications across various time zones.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the role, working independently within established procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, with 3-5 years in a relevant field.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel), MRP software, and BOM structures.
  • Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Experience in contract review is preferred.
