Position Overview

Community Human Services (CHS), a dedicated nonprofit organization, is seeking qualified individuals for the role of Supervised Visitation Monitor. This position is essential in providing support to families in Monterey County through our Supervised Visitation Program.

The ideal candidate will possess experience in working with children and families facing challenging situations. The role involves direct interaction with families referred by the court, probation, or through self-referral.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct services within the Supervised Visitation Program, catering to families referred by various legal entities.
  • Monitor visitations primarily during weekday evenings and weekends, with a requirement for weekend availability.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting, including necessary written reports for legal proceedings.
  • Conduct initial assessments and intakes for families.
  • Manage fee collection and provide appropriate receipts.
Additional Duties:

Maintain cleanliness and sanitization of visitation areas to ensure a safe environment for families.

Qualifications:
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.
  • Experience or knowledge in dealing with families undergoing custody disputes and significant transitions.
  • Understanding of child and elder abuse laws, with a commitment to mandated reporting.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and awareness.
Legal and Confidentiality Requirements:
  • Must comply with qualifications set forth by California State legislation.
Essential Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 24 hours of training in supervised visitation.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • No DUI convictions in the past five years.
  • No probation or parole status in the last decade.
  • No convictions related to child molestation or abuse.
  • No restraining orders within the last ten years.
  • Must disclose any personal relationships with clients prior to service provision.

Compensation for this role ranges from $23.28 to $28.29 per hour, with an additional 5% stipend for bilingual proficiency.
