Job Overview

We are seeking an exceptional 1st Grade Teacher to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a member of our staff, you will play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of our students. This is an exempt position with a competitive compensation package that includes a generous salary range of $65,000-$100,000 and comprehensive benefits.

ResponsibilitiesTeaching Methods
  • Employ a diverse range of teaching methods to create opportunities for deep understanding and differentiated instruction for all levels of ability within the class.
  • Utilize ICEF Common Assessments and Unit Assessment results to inform differentiated instruction for low and high-performing students.
  • Implement ICEF's Essential Elements and Core Values: Instructional Model College-Going Culture, College Style Discourse, College Level Analytical Writing, College Style Study Habits, and Backward Mapping to College Standards.
Learning Environment
  • Create and maintain a nurturing, structured, and engaging classroom environment.
  • Maintain clear and specific documentation of interventions taken to correct student behavior.
Performance and Grading
  • Achieve effective performance in all areas of the ICEF core values, principles, and instructional strategies as described in the ICEF Teacher Effectiveness Framework.
  • Provide clear information to students and parents regarding class objectives, weekly assignments, homework requirements, grading rubrics, and grading scale.
Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Special Education Team and ELL Support Staff to ensure students with additional needs can access the curriculum.
  • Attend and participate in Parent Engagement Meetings, Back-to-School Nights, Parent Conferences, and office hours/tutoring as communicated by administration.
Curriculum
  • Develop a powerfully engaging curriculum designed to move students toward meeting proficient performance on high-priority standards identified in ICEF Instructional Guides and California Common Core Standards.
  • Regularly provide lesson plans to the Principal as requested.
Professional Responsibilities
  • Participate actively in all professional development sessions.
  • Work required school hours, dress professionally, and adhere to a professional code of conduct.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the school Principal.
