Overview

Bergmann, an affiliate of Colliers Engineering & Design, is seeking an experienced Architectural Designer to join its Science, Technology, and Industry group in NC.

This role involves working on science, technology, and industrial-focused projects, including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, cannabis, gene therapies, clean rooms, manufacturing facilities, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with project programming and planning
  • Concept design and detailed design work with the project team
  • Engineering coordination and problem-solving for design solutions
  • Code analysis and research
  • Materials and products analysis and research
  • Specification writing and preparation of construction documents
  • On-site surveying at client facilities
  • Researching STI-related functions and technologies to build expertise in specialized markets

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field and 3+ years of experience in architectural design. Prior experience in science, technology, and industrial design, particularly in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, cannabis, gene therapies, clean rooms, and manufacturing facilities, is required. Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD is also necessary.

  • Able to work closely with others and communicate effectively
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Able to work independently with minimal instruction
  • Client-facing experience and strong Revit and AutoCAD skills
  • Proficient in SketchUp, Google Earth, Form-It Pro, Enscape, BlueBeam, SpecBuilder Cloud, and CTM BIM Suite
