About This Job

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Senior Engineer to provide technical support on projects by performing a variety of engineering-related tasks and assignments and verify that project tasks are complete, accurate, and in accordance with engineering best practices.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop broad knowledge and skills in a specific practice area.
  • Evaluate, select and apply standards, procedures and criteria to perform tasks for a project with some complex features.
  • Apply judgment to determine adaptation in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments.
  • Demonstrate the ability to prepare general engineering designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.
  • Prepare portions of project documents.
  • Edit specifications.
  • Perform research and investigations as necessary for projects.
  • May assign tasks to Engineers, administrative staff and/or technicians.
  • Work within AutoCAD Civil 3D to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines.
  • Prepare conceptual layouts with limited direction.
  • Design gravity sewer extensions and water extensions with limited direction.
  • Prepare SESC plans.
  • Prepare construction quantity estimates for projects with some assistance.
  • Select applicable standard construction details and draft site-specific construction details.
  • Draft technical reports, specifications, and memos.
  • Perform pump station calculations.
  • Review shop drawings and RFIs.
  • Conduct Fire Flow tests and perform Water Analysis with limited direction.
  • Utilize pipe works to show existing conditions and proposed improvements.
  • Prepare pump station and facility improvement plans with direction.
  • Prepare permit applications.
Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in environmental engineering, or civil engineering.
  • EIT preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in the civil/environmental engineering field with concentration in water/wastewater design.
  • Experience with AutoCAD & OpenRoads is desired.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Design experience with water and waste water treatment plant process and design.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
