Position Overview:

As a vital member of our property management team, the Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep of our residential facilities. This position involves maintaining the common areas and individual units, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct routine and preventative maintenance tasks to uphold property standards.
  • Perform emergency and scheduled electrical and plumbing repairs as needed.
  • Document and manage work orders initiated during shifts for effective tracking.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff, including painters and cleaners, to support overall property maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in maintenance or a similar field.
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent educational background is required.
  • Proficient in the use of power tools and basic maintenance equipment.
  • Fundamental understanding of electrical systems and plumbing is essential.
  • Physical capability to lift and relocate furniture and appliances, as well as the ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Willingness to navigate multiple flights of stairs in the absence of elevator service.
  • Basic computer skills are advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience working with diverse populations, including the elderly and those experiencing homelessness, is preferred.

Work Environment:

This position is structured around a 35-hour work week, providing a balanced work-life dynamic while contributing to the mission of enhancing community living standards.
