Midwood EMS is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Brooklyn. As a key member of our Maintenance Department, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and functionality of our office space, garage, vehicles, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain office space, garage, vehicles, and equipment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Perform general cleaning duties, including sweeping, mopping, and waxing floors, as well as dusting and polishing furniture and equipment.
- Make minor carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing repairs as needed.
- Perform touch-up and finish painting, and replenish restroom supplies.
- Clear snow from entrances and walkways, and pick up and deliver supplies and materials to rooms.
- Clean and maintain vehicles, including washing exterior, windshield, side mirrors, and tires, as well as mopping interior.
- Handle oxygen bunker for crew members when needed, and gas up vehicles as required.
- Participate in general cleaning, painting, and repair work, and assist in shipping and receiving supplies and materials.
- Check building and grounds throughout the day to ensure compliance with safety rules and procedures.
Requirements:
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved oral or written instructions.
- Ability to relate to supervisors and staff in a courteous manner.
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 15 – 25 pounds.
- Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.
- For those who are authorized, ability to move and drive Van size ambulances and company vehicles.
