Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the Logistics Operations Supervisor is to oversee the efficient execution of daily warehouse activities, which encompass shipping and receiving, inventory oversight, and maintaining compliance with food safety standards. This role is crucial in ensuring that our products reach customers while upholding our dedication to quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and unload raw materials from transportation vehicles while adhering to company food safety protocols.
  • Ensure compliance with FDA, FSMA, USDA Organic, SQF, Food Defense, and Food Fraud regulations relevant to the position.
  • Organize inbound freight and accurately stock items in designated locations, as well as prepare outbound shipments.
  • Manage small parcel and outbound shipments via UPS/FedEx.
  • Assist in the preparation of Bills of Lading and other shipping documentation.
  • Oversee general warehouse operations, including the management of raw materials and finished goods inventory.
  • Promote warehouse safety through training, documentation, and implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Stay informed about industry safety standards.
  • Foster a well-trained and motivated workforce through effective leadership and coaching.
  • Conduct daily management of warehouse operations and identify key objectives; provide training and development for staff as necessary.
  • Pick, pack, and ship orders generated from internal sales and customer service teams.
  • Participate in monthly internal food safety audits.
  • Conduct quarterly physical inventory reconciliations for raw materials and finished goods.
  • Recruit and train warehouse personnel as needed.
  • Perform quarterly performance reviews for all direct reports as required.

Requirements/Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Forklift certification with a minimum of 2 years of experience.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems, including cycle counts and inventory control.
  • Knowledge of FSMA and FDA regulations is advantageous.
  • Strong mathematical skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Demonstrated capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, prioritizing team success over individual achievements.
  • Experience with Third Party Food Audits is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Understanding of cleaning and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement effective solutions.
  • Capable of hiring, training, managing, and mentoring team members.
  • Able to lift 50-60 lbs multiple times throughout the day.
  • Ability to remain standing for the duration of the shift.
