Job Summary

The Operations Director is responsible for developing, managing, and delivering support services to our sales force. This role is accountable for the administrative services of sales, acting as a liaison between customers, our sales force, and distribution.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintains all sales support activities at the branch, ensuring seamless execution and high-quality results.
  • Trains sales staff on sales-related systems, databases, and associated processes, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
  • Provides customer support, including order processing, advising customers of product shortages, expected delivery dates, and price changes, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction.
  • Implements and maintains pricing per established policies, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Manages the collections process and maintains overall responsibility for outstanding invoices, ensuring timely resolution and minimal financial risk.
  • Responsible for all Accounts Payable activities within the branch, including expense, inventory, and freight invoices, and debit memos, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
  • Prepares reports related to customer inquiries, sales trends, customer complaints, delivery, or service problems, providing valuable insights for business growth and improvement.
  • Assists customers and suppliers to resolve order problems, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.
  • Manages inventory for the Branch, including the day-to-day maintenance of inventory levels through replenishing stock to meet annual turn goals, ensuring optimal inventory management.
  • May fill in for other lower-level roles within the branch, demonstrating adaptability and a willingness to support the team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, demonstrating a commitment to the company's goals and objectives.
Requirements
  • Typically requires a high school diploma or GED and five (5) or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, with excellent communication and presentation skills to all levels of employees.
  • Industry and sales experience preferred, with the ability to perform financial calculations and generate reports.
  • Demonstrated people and leadership skills with a record of achieving positive business results, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and projects.
  • Professional, self-motivated employee with excellent interpersonal skills, with an exemplary work ethic and decision-making ability.
Physical Demands

May be required to be on-call on nights or weekends, depending on need, with a valid driver's license and a good driving record.

Licenses & Certifications

Excellent driving record preferred, with all company vehicles subject to continuous video monitoring.

Supervisory Responsibility

5-10 Direct Reports, with budget responsibility and a focus on achieving business results.
