Charge Nurse RN Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Charge Nurse RN to join our team at Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Keller. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our hospital.

Responsibilities:

  • Assume responsibility for the hospital under the direction of the CNO and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Directly supervise nurses and ensure the provision of safe and effective patient care after hours, on weekends, and on holidays.
  • Assess all departments to ensure continuity of care and report pertinent information to management and administration.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, management, and administration to ensure seamless operations.
  • Manage staffing plans, nursing hours per patient day, and quality of work of nursing staff.
  • Ensure limited agency usage and overtime hours by managing and monitoring the nursing schedule.

Requirements:

  • Graduate of accredited registered nurse program, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Current unrestricted licensure in the state.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support required.
  • Current Advance Cardiac Life Support required.
  • Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) required.
  • Minimum of two years of previous nursing management experience.
