About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Charge Nurse RN to join our team at Texas Rehabilitation Hospital of Keller. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and leading our nursing department.

Responsibilities
  • Assume responsibility for the hospital under the direction and supervision of the CNO.
  • Implement, interpret, and assure compliance with policies and procedures, including regulatory and accreditation standards.
  • Directly supervise nurses and implement hospital goals and objectives based on budget parameters.
  • Reinforce the mission and vision of the hospital in all interactions.
  • Assure the provision of safe and effective patient care after hours, on weekends, and on holidays.
  • Assess all departments to ensure continuity of care and report pertinent information to management and administration.
  • Effectively communicate unusual occurrences or complaints for follow-up and intervene immediately when needed.
  • Ensure the nursing department staff performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
  • Ensure occurrence of appropriate documentation, including documentation of medical necessity, by staff in medical records; monitor completion and revisions to the Interdisciplinary Care Plan.
  • Promote rehabilitation nursing philosophy.
  • Manage staffing plans, nursing hours per patient day, and quality of work of nursing staff.
  • Ensure limited agency usage and overtime hours by managing and monitoring the nursing schedule.
  • May have patient care assignment in addition to daily responsibilities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduate of accredited registered nurse program, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Current unrestricted licensure in the state.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support required.
  • Current Advance Cardiac Life Support required.
  • Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN) required.
  • Minimum of two years of previous nursing management required.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, evaluate, and direct activities of clinical personnel; effective oral and written communication skills, in English with additional languages preferred; proficiency in basic computer skills required.
  • Demonstrates problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
