Job Summary

The Data Protection Engineer II will be responsible for providing expert-level data backup administration, executing procedures for break/fix repair, handling change requests, and scheduling maintenance. This role will also involve assisting in the implementation and support of data backup systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage data backup resources for optimal performance, including ongoing reviews of the existing backup architecture, policies, scalability, and operational considerations.
  • Lead and participate in backup-related projects, ensuring timely completion and high-quality results.
  • Resolve escalated customer issues, providing expert-level support and assistance with customer inquiries, client-side operations, and configuration.
  • Prepare capacity and growth plans, ensuring the data backup system meets the evolving needs of the organization.
Requirements
  • Four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • 3-6 years of experience in data backup administration, IT infrastructure, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience with Avamar, SNMP monitoring tools, SAN storage, and ITIL process tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer-focused interpersonal skills in a support environment.
Work Environment

The work is primarily performed in an office or remote environment, requiring strong technical skills and attention to detail.
