Job Title: Network Engineer II

At Altafiber, we are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer II to join our team. As a Network Engineer II, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our managed service clients' network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement network solutions that meet client requirements
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network issues to ensure optimal performance
  • Implement security measures to protect client networks
  • Communicate with clients and provide technical support as needed
  • Collaborate with Managed Service Providers, Architects, Security, and Engineers for network transformation, improvements, and Proof of Concepts
Requirements:
  • 4 years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • CCNA, or equivalent, CCNP preferred
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in related field
  • 3+ years minimum experience in Network Engineering in a Managed Service Provider or similar workspace or 5+ minimum experience in a Network Engineering role in a Enterprise workspace
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with network and security automation preferred, i.e. Ansible, Python, Javascript, Terrform, etc.
  • Ability to troubleshoot large enterprise networks
  • Ability to explain technical concepts, give clients guidance and vision about the solution
  • Experience with network vendor API's a plus
  • Experience with Cisco, VMware Velocloud, Palo Alto, or any other SDWAN vendor a plus
Work Environment:

This role requires working with a team of other network engineers, solutions architects, IT professionals, and potentially clients. This role requires remote collaboration, with the aforementioned. Work can be fast-paced and dynamic, with the need to troubleshoot and resolve network issues in a timely manner.

This role requires the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and be able to adapt quickly to changing requirements.

The environment may also require being on-call or to be available outside of normal working hours to provide support to clients.
