Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with Patient Care: Provide support to Optometrists during eye exams, including pre-testing patients, managing patient records, and ensuring smooth patient flow.
  • Perform Diagnostic Tests: Conduct tests to aid Optometrists in accurate diagnosis and treatment, using equipment such as pupilometers, lensometers, and autorefractors.
  • Review Prescriptions: Carefully review prescriptions and patient information, identifying special needs and consulting with Optometrists as needed.
  • Provide Customer Support: Assist patients with frame adjustments, provide information on eyewear options, and resolve customer complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Manage Inventory: Assist with managing inventory of frames, equipment, and contact lenses, ensuring accurate tracking and ordering.
  • Maintain Patient Records: Handle and file patient records in an organized and efficient manner, adhering to practice standards and HIPAA regulations.
Requirements
  • Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1 year of strong customer service skills and 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to assess priorities and address multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certifications: Optometric technician certification preferred, BLS/CPR Certification from American Heart Association preferred.
