Job Overview

At Great Oaks Charter School, Bridgeport, we are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a School Academic Paraprofessional. This role plays a vital part in supporting the academic success of students, working closely with teachers and administrators to provide essential assistance in classroom management, student instruction, and educational support services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers to implement dynamic lesson plans addressing students' learning needs.
  • Provide individual and small group tutoring to support skill development.
  • Foster a positive classroom environment, encouraging student engagement.
  • Support students with special needs per their individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Collaborate with AmeriCorps Fellows to reinforce critical content.
  • Promote respect, leadership, and community engagement among students.

Requirements:

  • Passion for education and belief in each student's potential.
  • Prior experience in education or youth development is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborative, positive attitude with adaptability.
  • High school diploma (Associate's degree or higher preferred).
