Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team at Emory Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care and observation services under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or LPN.
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients.
  • Operate various clinical equipment, including but not limited to, oxygen, suction equipment, and bedside glucose monitoring machines.
  • Assist with patient procedures, collect and transport patient specimens, and complete applicable forms.
  • Maintain hospital and unit-specific competencies, and comply with Standard Precautions guidelines, Infection Control procedures, and safety standards.
  • Assist in emergency situations as directed by an RN/LPN, and ensure that prescribed measures related to hygiene, comfort, and rest are provided.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • BLS is required.
  • Must meet one of the following requirements:
    • One year of direct patient care experience.
    • Successful completion of a nursing assistant training course.
    • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license through State of Georgia.
    • Current enrollment in a nursing program and completion of 2 clinical rotations.
