We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Specialist to join our team at Emory Healthcare. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care and observation services under the direction of a Registered Nurse and/or LPN.
- Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment for patients.
- Operate various clinical equipment, including but not limited to, oxygen, suction equipment, and bedside glucose monitoring machines.
- Assist with patient procedures, collect and transport patient specimens, and complete applicable forms.
- Maintain hospital and unit-specific competencies, and comply with Standard Precautions guidelines, Infection Control procedures, and safety standards.
- Assist in emergency situations as directed by an RN/LPN, and ensure that prescribed measures related to hygiene, comfort, and rest are provided.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- BLS is required.
- Must meet one of the following requirements:
- One year of direct patient care experience.
- Successful completion of a nursing assistant training course.
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license through State of Georgia.
- Current enrollment in a nursing program and completion of 2 clinical rotations.
