About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Care Technician to join our team at WellNow Urgent Care. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Take patient history and obtain vital signs
  • Perform basic testing and screenings, such as vision, audio, and urine drug screens
  • Collect laboratory samples and perform phlebotomy
  • Accurately complete paperwork and computer work for lab tests
  • Perform point-of-care testing and ensure sterile technique
  • Schedule and coordinate necessary records for ancillary care
  • Assist providers with exams and testing
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance
  • Ensure equipment is in working order and perform routine maintenance
  • Log laboratory procedures and process related paperwork
  • Maintain examination rooms and stock necessary medical supplies
  • Perform registration duties, including explaining insurance options and collecting payments
  • Accompany providers to the bedside and accurately document patient information
Requirements
  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Ability to identify equipment problems and correct or notify the team leader
  • Ability to apply written instructions and standardized work practices
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, patients, and families
  • Able to withstand physical and mental demands, including standing, walking, and lifting
  • Computer knowledge and skills, including the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
  • Up-to-date on injections and provide documentation, as per OSHA guidelines
  • Ability to complete and maintain CPR certification
  • Excellent listening and note-taking skills
  • Ability to apply written instructions and standardize work practices
  • Basic computer skills, including the use of EMR
  • Demonstrated ability to type at least 45 words per minute
  • Strong communication skills, including grammatical, spelling, and verbal
  • Detail-oriented with a proven ability to work effectively under conditions requiring accuracy
  • Capable of working well on a team
  • Friendly and customer service-oriented
  • Ability to manage high call volume
