About the Role:

Tennessee Orthopaedic Alliance is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in the daily operation of our clinics, partnering with other clinical staff and administrative team members to ensure our patients receive excellent care.

Responsibilities:

  • Escort patients from the lobby to the exam room with a smile.
  • Take patient medical histories, obtain chief complaints, and prepare patients for examination and treatment.
  • Prepare equipment and supplies for clinical procedures such as aspirations and injections.
  • Apply and remove casts, splints, dressings, and durable medical equipment as directed by physician.
  • Electronically send prescriptions as directed by physician.
  • Assist with the ordering and scheduling of patient tests, labs, and MRIs, and appointments for continuation of care.
  • Promptly respond to patient phone calls.
  • Order and maintain clinical and office supplies and equipment.
  • Maintain patient files in the EHR (NextGen) and document as necessary.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least one year of experience working as a medical assistant, with experience in an orthopaedic environment a plus.
  • Exceptional focus on the patient experience, with a passion for providing excellent care to our patients and their families.
  • Energetic and enthusiastic pace at work, with the ability to swiftly and accurately manage the flow of patients.
  • Flexibility and dependability, with the capacity to be at work on time, every day, so our patients can receive the care they need in a timely manner.
