Role: Investigative Analyst I

Location: Washington, DC

The Investigative Analyst I will assist INTERPOL Washington, the United States National Central Bureau (USNCB) in facilitating the exchange of criminal justice, humanitarian, and public safety information between domestic law enforcement agencies and their international counterparts. The role may involve supporting the INTERPOL Operations Command Center (IOCC), the Foreign Notices Program within Global Police Services, and other operational divisions of the USNCB as needed.

The USNCB operates continuously, 24/7.

Key Responsibilities

  • Transmit sensitive investigative information through both international and domestic communication systems in response to inquiries related to investigations and humanitarian efforts.
  • Field and respond to inquiries from both domestic and international law enforcement partners.
  • Conduct database searches within domestic and international law enforcement, compliance, and inspection systems to identify, collect, generate, and organize critical investigative leads.
  • Input alerts on foreign criminals into U.S. databases.
  • Create electronic case files within INTERPOL Washington's internal case management system, including data entry and uploading of initial investigative findings.
  • Review electronic case files and various documents for accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in relevant tasks.
  • Proficiency in various software applications is essential, particularly Microsoft Office Suite, with a focus on Access and Excel.
  • Experience in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques.
  • Possession of a Secret clearance is required.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, alongside strong customer service abilities.
  • Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
