Job Title: LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - Medicine Specialty Clinic

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at OU Health Nicholson Tower. As a LPN, you will provide high-quality patient care and work collaboratively with our healthcare team to deliver exceptional patient outcomes.

Job Summary:

Under the general supervision of a registered nurse, the LPN will provide preventative and health care to an assigned group of patients or clients in an OU Health facility. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Administers medications safely under direction of physician or other medical personnel
  • Observes, records, and reports patient's condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians
  • Provide care according to an established nursing plan
  • Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation
  • Ensures patient chart entries are made accurately and in a timely manner and forwarding charts as appropriate
  • Communicates systematic report to other care providers
  • Assisting in the coordination of care delivery; utilizes resources to promote the continuum of care
  • Employs strategies to promote health in a safe environment
  • Documents progress toward the attainment of outcomes
  • Uses quality and evidence-based practice to deliver and improve care
  • Triage telephone calls for referral to other clinical team members
Requirements:
  • Current LPN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing, or a current multistate compact LPN License (eNLC) required
  • Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire
  • Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, plan and evaluate nursing needs of assigned patients
