Academic Leader in Infectious Diseases

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic leader to join our team as an Associate or Full Professor in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Global Public Health at the University of California, San Diego.
The successful candidate will have a strong track record of outstanding research, excellent teaching, and successful leadership experience. They will be expected to facilitate clinical and translational research in the area of HIV epidemiology, provide lectures in the ID Fellow lecture series, and engage in outpatient clinical activities and patient care.
The appointment at the Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's background and experience. The series will include 50% Ladder Rank / 50% In-Residence with secured extramural funding or 100% Ladder Rank.
As a member of the Health Sciences Compensation Plan, the appointee should be aware that there are limitations on outside professional activities, and clinical moonlighting is expressly prohibited.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have an MD or equivalent, PhD, or MD/PhD with an emphasis relevant to Infectious Diseases and Global Public Health. They must have a track record of outstanding research, a track record of excellent teaching, and successful leadership experience. Candidates must also have national recognition in clinical, translational, and/or basic research with a history of extramural research funding and publications in high-impact journals.
