KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

As part of the nephrology healthcare team, you will ensure safe and effective dialysis treatment for patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse.


• Prepare, test, and operate hemodialysis machines for patient care.


• Record and document essential pre- and post-treatment vital signs and weight for each patient.


• Assess vascular access prior to treatment and perform necessary cannulation.


• Identify and address intradialytic issues as directed by physician orders.


• Monitor patients' responses to dialysis therapy.


• Evaluate patients before terminating venous access and discontinue treatment following established protocols.


• Communicate any significant changes in patient condition to the supervisor.


• Accurately enter all treatment data into the designated clinical application in a timely manner.


• Collect, label, and prepare lab samples according to laboratory standards.


• Maintain cleanliness and disinfect dialysis machines, chairs, and surrounding areas between treatments in accordance with facility policies.


• Assist healthcare team members in providing patient education.


• Organize and utilize supplies and equipment efficiently to minimize waste.

EDUCATION AND LICENSE REQUIREMENTS:


• High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:


• Desired qualities: dependable, compassionate, supportive, collaborative, and reliable.


• Previous experience in patient care within a hospital or similar setting is preferred but not mandatory.


• Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of the Fresenius Medical Care dialysis training program and CPR certification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Daily responsibilities include desk work, personal computer use, and interaction with patients, facility staff, and physicians. The role may require travel between assigned facilities and various community locations.


• The work environment is typical of a healthcare facility, featuring controlled air temperature and moderate noise levels. Employees may be exposed to infectious and contagious materials.


• The position involves direct patient care, which may require heavy lifting and assisting with patient mobility. Equipment aids and/or coworkers may provide assistance. Frequent standing, bending, and the ability to lift and lower solutions weighing up to 30 lbs. are required, with occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.


The compensation for this position will vary based on the successful candidate's qualifications, including education, work experience, skills, and competencies.

Hourly Rate: $23.73
