Key Responsibilities:
This role functions as a Technical Support Specialist, necessitating extensive experience and a comprehensive understanding of computer hardware, software, networking, system architecture, peripherals, database management, and system oversight. The position demands proficiency in current versions of Microsoft Windows PC and Server operating systems, Microsoft Exchange, smartphones, and other industry-standard software and hardware, along with a solid grasp of networks, routers, and switches to ensure network connectivity. The role requires experience in technical support and helpdesk operations, building professional relationships with users, prioritizing, and scheduling technical support tasks as well as system administration.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements:
The work is primarily conducted in an office environment, with occasional travel to other county offices, conferences, and meetings, or to different county facilities for projects or technology installations.
Occasionally, the incumbent may engage in maintenance, installation, or upgrades that necessitate climbing ladders and the ability to work at various heights, typically lower than twenty (20) feet.
The incumbent may also be required to lift objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
A BS or BA degree in a computer-related field is required, along with four (4) years of experience in system/network administration; or a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) certification and three (3) years of experience in system or network administration; or five (5) years of experience in system administration and three (3) years of experience with Ethernet Networks, including a working knowledge of Cisco routers and Firewalls, or a C.C.N.A certification.
Licenses and Other Requirements:
Candidates must successfully pass a background check, driving record check, and fingerprinting. A current valid driver's license is required.
Completion of local Public Records Act training and Criminal Justice Information System security training within one (1) month of hire date is mandatory.
A Non-disclosure Agreement with Walla Walla County must be signed.Application Process:
