Position Overview

InsideHigherEd is seeking qualified candidates for the role of Enology & Viticulture Instructional Support Specialist. This position focuses on enhancing the educational experience for students enrolled in the Enology & Viticulture program.

Key Responsibilities:
This role is primarily responsible for facilitating instructional support in Enology and Viticulture courses. The specialist will assist in both individualized and group learning sessions, collaborating closely with faculty to develop and adapt instructional materials that enhance hands-on learning experiences. Responsibilities include:

Support classroom and laboratory instructionFoster student engagement and learningMonitor safety and health standards in the learning environmentManage the preparation of materials for instructional useMaintain cleanliness and organization in laboratory settingsAssist students with laboratory tasks and assignmentsConduct practical demonstrations in both vineyard and winery settingsSupport fieldwork and operational tasks in the vineyard and wineryTrain students on the safe operation of vineyard and winery equipmentEnsure compliance with safety regulations and best practicesPerform routine maintenance on instructional equipment

Qualifications:
Consideration will be given to equivalent combinations of education and experience.

Associate's degree in Enology, Viticulture, or a related field is required. Relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in winery or vineyard operations, including knowledge of safety regulations.Entrepreneurial experience in the field is a plus.Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are encouraged to apply.

Employment Conditions

This position is classified within a bargaining unit. The role typically requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Candidates must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs and perform tasks in a dynamic environment. Certification in forklift operation and pesticide application will be required within specified timeframes upon hire.
