Job Title: Direct Support Professional

Redwood Family Care Network is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling lives.

Job Summary:

The Direct Support Professional will provide person-centered support to individuals with developmental disabilities, promoting their health, safety, and well-being. This includes assisting with daily living tasks, supporting individuals in their daily routines, and advocating for their needs and goals.

Responsibilities:
  • Support individuals with developmental disabilities in their daily living tasks, including personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Develop and implement daily routines and activities that promote the health, safety, and well-being of individuals.
  • Advocate for individuals' needs and goals, working collaboratively with the care team to ensure their support plan is implemented.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to individuals, promoting their socialization and engagement with their community.
  • Assist individuals with transportation to appointments, activities, and social events.
  • Maintain accurate records of individuals' progress, including daily logs and incident reports.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in caregiving or a related field preferred.
  • Direct Support Professional Certificate and Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training preferred.
  • First Aid and CPR certification preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a valid California Driver's License.
  • Candidates must pass a background check and provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
