Job Summary

Tidelands Health is seeking a highly skilled Patient Services Representative I Float to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for registering patients, handling first call resolution, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register patients and obtain accurate demographic, financial, and medical information.
  • Handle first call resolution for assigned departments and transfer calls as necessary.
  • Pre-register patients for procedures and verify insurance information.
  • Assist with making referrals and coordinate multiple resources for patient services.
  • Perform various administrative support duties, including opening and sorting mail, and distributing correspondence.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Two years of related customer-facing experience, preferably in healthcare.
  • Demonstrated understanding of basic medical terminology preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Call center, patient scheduling, and/or physician front-office experience preferred.
  • Ability to interact successfully with the public and perform effectively in high-stress situations.
Physical Requirements

The employee is frequently required to stand, sit, and walk; frequently to use hands, fingers; and frequently to talk or hear. The employee must exert up to 15 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
