We are seeking a skilled Echocardiography Sonographer to join our team at UVA Health. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Professional, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic patient care services using ultrasound and related diagnostic procedures.

The scope of practice of the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer includes those procedures acts and processes permitted by law for which the individual has received education and clinical experience has demonstrated competency and has completed the appropriate ARDMS certification which is the standard of practice in cardiac ultrasound.

This role requires the ability to demonstrate cognitive skills required to perform comprehensive echocardiograph imaging, technical skills and abilities required to perform comprehensive echocardiograph exams, and knowledge understanding and technical requirements for Contrast Echocardiography (LVO Doppler enhancement MCE shunt evaluation).

In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform echocardiograph imaging and exams
  • Develop and implement imaging protocols
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide patient care
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices

Requirements:

  • Must meet the education requirement for Echocardiography Sonographer certification with either CCI or ARDMS
  • 2 years relevant experience preferred
  • RCS or RDCS with CCI or RCVT with ARDMS certification within 12 months of hire
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required
