Job Title: Instrumentation and Controls Engineer

As a key member of our team at Affiliated Engineers (AEI), you will play a crucial role in empowering our clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions, save the environment, and create a better future for all.

Responsibilities:
  • Establish criteria for industrial systems, including determining applicable codes, selecting controllers for various applications, and defining hazardous area boundaries.
  • Develop system routing options, coordinate and implement the layout of industrial systems and equipment, and monitor, interpret, and conduct tests of Programmable Logic Controllers/distributed control systems.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation and Controls Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field of study, along with five years of experience in instrumentation and controls engineering. Alternatively, a Master's Degree in Instrumentation and Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field of study, with three years of experience in instrumentation and controls engineering, is also acceptable.
  • Designing, programming, and implementing control systems, including Allen Bradley, Modicon, or Siemens PLCs.
  • Experience with industrial networks and communication protocols.
  • Experience with SCADA software, including Wonderware packages (In-touch and Archestra System Platform), Factory Talk View, or Citect SCADA.
  • Experience with industrial system design codes, standards, and developing engineering specifications specific to instrumentation and controls.
  • Experience with engineering design programs, including AutoCAD and/or AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% regionally.
Key Skills:
  • Experience with one or more of the following: specifying instrumentation, panel design fundamentals, safety systems, design within electrically classified spaces (Class I, Div I / Div II), and experience within Specialty Chemical or Life Science industries.
