About the Role

We are seeking a visionary leader to join our team as Senior Director of Artificial Intelligence to drive AI initiatives and transform the future of our organization. This is an exciting time to join WEX's AI team, dedicated to harnessing the power of AI to transform our products, services, and customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and inspire a high-performing team of AI architects and data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Develop and execute AI strategy, partnering with AI leaders from tech and digital organizations to define and implement a comprehensive AI strategy aligned with WEX's strategic goals.
  • Build AI solutions, leading a team of data scientists working with machine learning engineers to develop cutting-edge AI models and algorithms to solve real-world business problems.
  • Drive AI innovation, staying abreast of the latest AI research and trends to ensure WEX remains at the forefront of AI innovation.
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders across WEX to identify and address AI opportunities, building strong relationships with external partners, academic institutions, and the broader AI community.
Requirements
  • Advanced degree (PhD or MS) in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience with 10+ years of experience in AI research, development, or deployment.
  • 10+ years of experience leading and managing AI teams.
  • Proven track record of delivering impactful AI solutions to real-world business problems.
  • Experience with a wide range of AI techniques, including machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.
  • Strong programming skills in Python, R, or other relevant languages.
