Thompson Engineering is seeking a skilled Construction Materials Testing Specialist to join our team in Texas. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of construction materials used in various projects.
Key Responsibilities- Process and test soil, asphalt, and concrete materials in accordance with company and client guidelines.
- Log and prepare material samples for testing, including weighing and drying.
- Perform tests using appropriate ASTM methods and enter data manually onto the proper forms.
- Maintain a clean and organized working environment and perform general maintenance on lab equipment.
- Assist the Drilling and Construction Material Testing Departments as required by the Organization Supervisor.
- Ensure quality in every step of the testing process and maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure on-time and regular attendance.
- High school degree or equivalent.
- General maintenance skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Ability to learn and follow instructions.
- ACI Level I or II certification required.
- ACI Strength testing certification required.
- Nuclear gauge certification required.
- Six months experience in construction materials testing preferred.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Stand in one place for 1 to 2 hours at a time.
- Stoop and bend to perform equipment maintenance.
- Ability to wear appropriate PPE for hazardous materials.
- Wear steel toe shoes as needed.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
