As a PRN Group III/B Nurse, you will provide professional care to patients in the Medical/Surgical Intermediate Care Unit at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing care of patients, working collaboratively with the patient and family to provide theory-based professional nursing care and coordinate care delivery with the interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities- Provide expert care for acutely ill patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnoses.
- Treat patients after complex open and minimally invasive thoracic surgeries, AAA repairs, and jaw repairs.
- Manage patients with end-stage renal disease, end-stage liver failure, chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, sepsis, CHF, COPD, and GI bleeds.
- Monitor patients with continuous cardiac and pulse oximetry monitoring.
- Participate in fostering a world-class healthcare environment.
- Associate degree from an accredited School of Nursing required.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- At least two (2) years recent acute care experience in the relevant patient care area required.
- Registered Nurse (RN) State Licensure in the District of Columbia required.
- Certification in Basic Life Support required.
- Multiple per diem (PRN) options available with different requirements and rates of pay.
