Job Summary

As a Primary Care Provider in our Oncology department, you will play a vital role in providing expert care to patients with cancer. This is a collaborative joint practice with physicians, where you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for individual patients. You will incorporate evidence-based research into clinical practice and initiate and document appropriate interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patient needs and provide education on cancer management and treatment options.
  • Collaborate with physicians to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Prescribe drug therapies per protocol and physician consultation.
  • Conduct patient assessments and provide information to physicians prior to seeing the patient.
  • Assist physicians with procedures as needed.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing with a Nurse Practitioner degree emphasis or program certificate equivalent.
  • 1 year of nursing experience.
  • NURSE PRACTITIONER - NLNP certification.
  • South Carolina Official Recognition Nurse Practitioner.
  • Prescriptive Authority South Carolina Nursing License.
  • South Carolina Controlled Substance license; Federal DEA license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Oncology nursing experience.
  • Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effects of cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment.
  • Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse.

Work Environment

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive. The work environment is variable, and the location is Richland-14MP.
