Quality Assurance (QA) Lead Role

The QA Lead is a key role in the Quality Team, responsible for overall Quality Management System (QMS) at the Omaha site. The focus is on site RI Management and implementing best Quality Excellence practices to manage and control Quality Incidents on the Omaha site, working with the Omaha Productions Team.

This QA Lead role supports site operations with all aspects of RI Management Quality systems, providing expertise and utilizing QMS tools (e.g., ISO 9001, RCA, A3, QRA, FMEA, QA Audits). The QA Lead interacts directly with the Omaha Operation/Planning and Logistics team and seeks support from Regional Quality Team leaders.

The QA Lead ensures Omaha formulations meet all QA specifications without Quality cross-contamination before shipping to customers.

This position requires a strong desire to develop into a leadership position, as RI/QA management Lead responsibilities involve working with Syngenta (on-site and off-site) Leadership Team on cross-functional projects.

Accountabilities:

  • Serves as an active Quality liaison to provide accurate, useful, on-time RI and QA assessment to the Omaha Operation team (Production/Planning/Logistics) to ensure Quality product specifications are met and avoid Quality cross-contaminations (RI and QI).
  • Works with Operation/Planning/Logistics and QA/QC team to promote best RI practices throughout Omaha production site contractors as required.
  • Provides and implements RI Management Improvement plans throughout Omaha site.
  • Provides skills and training required for RI and QA to all Omaha personnel to support Site RI best practices and ensure their knowledge of Quality Excellence meets Omaha business needs and goals.
  • Coordinates and Improves Ways of Working (WoW) with all Omaha Team to assure best RI practices are followed throughout the Omaha plant, as One Team, One Plan.
  • Encourages and promotes opportunities for Operational and Quality Excellence improvements and advises Omaha Leadership team of approach to realize identified changes and improvements with more emphasis to avoid Quality cross-contamination (RI and QI).
  • Responsible for establishing and reviewing documents related to Quality Management Systems (QMS) aligned with Syngenta Regional and Global Quality code of practice (CoP).
  • Works with Omaha Quality and Operation Team to report and improve RI best practices and production Right First Time (RFT) as Omaha site's Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Must have an excellent knowledge of QMS tools and present Quality performance documents to Senior Leadership Teams and cross-functional Team at various Syngenta sites (including tollers).
  • Assists and assumes responsibility for resources allocated by site Quality Manager working with Omaha Leadership Team with any assigned administrative Quality tasks.
  • As needed, trains and acts as a backup to QA Specialist role in Omaha Quality team and works with Syngenta Regional/Global Quality Team, Omaha Leadership Team.

Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Chemistry preferred and with 3-5+ years relevant QA experience or Associates Degree with 8-10+ years relevant RI and QA experience.
  • Proven Excellence in Quality certifications (e.g., ASQ, 6 Sigma) and working knowledge in Lean manufacturing process using OpEx tools (A3, RCA, QRA, PRA, 5Whys, etc.).
  • Must possess strong understanding of standard QA/RI/QC practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Good working knowledge of Quality Compliance in production/Chemical environments.
