The Lead Radiologic Technologist will provide leadership and direction to the radiology department, ensuring the effective ongoing quality, productivity, and efficiency of the team.
This role will assist physicians in the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, preparing patients and operating imaging equipment to obtain diagnostic scans.
The successful candidate will spend 90% of their time in direct patient care, ensuring patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department.
Key Responsibilities- Ensures patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department.
- Explains procedures and post-procedure orders to patients to gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.
- Prioritizes workflow in regard to patient condition and ensures timely arrival and departure.
- Provides an atmosphere conducive to patient cooperation and confidence.
- Utilizes data from patient satisfaction and practice performance results to identify opportunities for improvement.
- High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year/Associate Degree preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology program.
- 2 years of experience in diagnostic radiology preferred.
- Certified and registered by ARRT in Radiography-RT(R) required.
The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequent travel, and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are necessary. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs. May be exposed to radiation.
