About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team at UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper. As a key member of our radiology department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality diagnostic imaging services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist physicians in the performance of diagnostic and therapeutic procedures by preparing patients and operating mammographic equipment.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department.
  • Explain procedures and post-procedure orders to patients to gain cooperation and minimize anxiety.
  • Prioritize workflow based on patient condition and ensure timely arrival and departure.
  • Provide a supportive atmosphere to gain patient cooperation and confidence.
  • Utilize patient satisfaction and practice performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and participate in the planning process.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year/Associate's Degree preferred.
  • Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program required.
  • 1 year of experience in Mammography preferred.
  • Certified and registered by ARRT in Radiography required; Mammography - RT(R)(M) within 12 months of hire required.

Physical Demands

The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills are required. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs. May be exposed to radiation.
