Job Summary

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Sentara, you will play a vital role in helping patients regain independence and achieve their goals. You will work under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to administer treatments and procedures, develop treatment plans, and provide education to clients and caregivers.

Responsibilities
  • Administer occupational therapy treatments and procedures under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist.
  • Assist in the development of treatment plans and carry out routine functions.
  • Document the progress of treatment within the scope of treatment plans established by an Occupational Therapist.
  • Provide age-appropriate education for clients and caregivers.
  • Supervise and assume responsibility for care provided by identified team members.
Requirements
  • Associates level degree, certificate, diploma, or degree from an accredited school required.
  • Current licensure in the state of Virginia or licensure eligible and current National Board Certification as an Occupational Therapy Assistant (NBCOT) or certification eligible.
Qualifications
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI.
  • Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) - Certifications - National Board Certification In Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
