Position Overview
  • Direct and manage the closing processes at month-end and year-end for North America, ensuring precision, thoroughness, and compliance with deadlines.
  • Examine and authorize journal entries, confirming they are accurately recorded and substantiated in line with GAAP and organizational policies.
  • Assess account reconciliations to uphold the integrity of financial data and assist the team in promptly addressing discrepancies.
  • Analyze monthly fluctuations and provide insights for notable or unusual balance changes.
  • Oversee the NORAM Cash Forecasting process.
  • Collaborate with various teams to facilitate operational initiatives.
  • Conduct technical accounting research as necessary and implement findings as required.
  • Engage in the preparation and evaluation of monthly reports/analyses for Management.
  • Ensure compliance with Internal Audit/SOX requirements.
  • Support audits and liaise with external auditors to furnish necessary documentation and assistance.
  • Contribute to special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
This role is hybrid and based out of our Detroit, MI office.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • 5+ years of pertinent accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
Preferred Requirements:
  • Master's degree is preferred.
  • CPA License and experience with a Big 4 accounting firm.
  • Experience managing month-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
  • Strong technical accounting acumen and proficiency in US GAAP.
  • Familiarity with accounting software; experience with NetSuite and/or OneStream is advantageous.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Detail-oriented with robust organizational and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills, with the capacity to mentor and develop team members.

Compensation is competitive, with a salary range of $120K - $145K, plus Health, Dental, Life, STD, LTD, 401K, and PTO. Total compensation may vary based on candidate experience/education and location.
