Position Overview

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a qualified academic Vascular Surgeon to enhance the Department of Surgery. The successful candidate will be appointed at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, with academic rank and salary aligned with their professional experience and credentials.

Clinical Responsibilities

The selected individual will be proficient in both open and endovascular surgical techniques, addressing a wide range of arterial and venous conditions. A deep understanding of arterial diseases, including those affecting the aorta, mesentery, carotid, renal, and peripheral arteries, is essential. Experience with venous disorders, thoracic outlet syndrome, and spinal exposure is preferred. The Division of Vascular Diseases and Surgery is a high-volume clinical environment, fostering collaboration with various surgical specialties.

Educational Contributions

Participation in the education and mentorship of fellows, residents, and medical students is a key component of this role. The division operates accredited vascular fellowship and integrated residency programs, emphasizing the importance of training the next generation of vascular surgeons.

Research Opportunities

In addition to clinical duties, the successful candidate will engage in quality improvement initiatives, attend relevant conferences, and conduct research in clinical, translational, or basic science domains. Qualifications

  • MD or DO or equivalent
  • Board eligible or certified in Vascular Surgery
  • Completion of an ACGME accredited residency in General Surgery
  • Completion of a Vascular Surgery Fellowship
  • Eligibility for licensure in the State of Ohio
