Job Summary

The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist will provide direct patient care, consultation, and education to patients, families, and healthcare providers. This role will also involve the development and implementation of standards of nursing practice, as well as participation in quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care to patients with complex and chronic conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized plans of care that reflect a multidisciplinary approach to patient care
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to provide consultation and education on advanced nursing practice
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient outcomes and nursing practice
  • Develop and implement standards of nursing practice to improve patient care and safety
Requirements
  • Master's degree in a work-related discipline/field from an accredited college or university
  • Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience
  • CA Registered Nurse (RN), CNS - Clinical Nurse Specialist certified by the California Board of Registered Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a pediatric hematology/oncology setting
  • Knowledge of advanced clinical practice education, consultation, research, and administration
  • Knowledge of clinical operations, workflow, and procedures
