POSITION OVERVIEW

The Director of IT Applications will spearhead and oversee the strategic direction of the company's application initiatives. This role encompasses leadership of the Project Management Office (PMO), Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics division, ERP management, Application Integrations, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), .Net Development, Business Applications, and Business Relationship Management. The ideal candidate will be a forward-thinking leader with over 15 years of managerial experience, adept at driving the creation and execution of innovative solutions that align with business objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


• Leadership and Strategic Direction:

  • Formulate and implement the strategic vision for the Applications department, ensuring alignment with overarching business goals.
  • Provide mentorship and direction to a diverse group of IT professionals, cultivating a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Guarantee that application and technology initiatives are in sync with the strategic aims of the organization.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and goal-setting processes in collaboration with senior leadership.
  • Establish departmental policies and procedures that significantly influence organizational operations.


• Business Intelligence and Analytics:

  • Lead the BI and Analytics team in crafting and executing data-driven strategies that deliver insights to enhance business decision-making.
  • Encourage the adoption of advanced analytics and business intelligence tools to improve operational efficiency and competitive positioning.


• Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP):

  • Oversee the ERP team managing the Infor M3 system and legacy ERP platforms, ensuring optimal functionality and integration with other business systems.
  • Supervise ERP-related projects, upgrades, and system implementations.


• Application Integrations and EDI:

  • Manage the integration of various business applications and systems, ensuring seamless data interchange and interoperability.
  • Direct EDI processes and integrations to facilitate efficient electronic transactions with business partners.


• Business Applications:

  • Oversee the suite of business applications, ensuring they effectively meet organizational needs and align with strategic objectives.
  • Assess and implement new applications and technologies to enhance business processes and drive innovation.


• Business Relationship Management:

  • Serve as a liaison between IT and business units, understanding their requirements and ensuring IT services align with business goals.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, providing strategic guidance and support.


• Application Software Development:

  • Manage daily operations within the organization's application software development team.
  • Oversee a team responsible for designing, building, testing, deploying, maintaining, and supporting applications.
  • Establish functional application requirements and evaluate solutions to ensure they meet organizational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with software development best practices and methodologies.
  • Develop both short- and long-term product roadmaps to facilitate continuous application improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of managerial experience in IT, with a focus on application development and management.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices related to various IT functions.
  • Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams and managing multiple IT functions, including PMO, BI and Analytics, ERP, Application Integrations, EDI, .Net Development, Business Applications, and Business Relationship Management.
  • Strong familiarity with ERP systems; specific experience with Infor M3 is advantageous but not mandatory.
