POSITION OVERVIEW

The Head of IT Applications will spearhead and oversee the strategic direction of the organization's application initiatives, managing the Project Management Office (PMO), Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytics team, ERP operations, Application Integrations, Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), .Net Development, Business Applications, and Business Relationship Management. This role demands a forward-thinking leader with a robust background of over 15 years in management, capable of steering the creation and execution of innovative solutions that align with business goals.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


• Leadership and Strategic Direction:

  • Formulate and implement the strategic vision for the Applications division, ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives of the organization.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to a diverse group of IT professionals, cultivating a culture of innovation, teamwork, and ongoing enhancement.
  • Guarantee that application and technology projects are in sync with the strategic aims of the organization.
  • Participate in strategic planning and goal-setting for the department in partnership with senior leadership.
  • Establish departmental policies and procedures that significantly influence the organization.


• Business Intelligence and Data Analytics:

  • Guide the BI and Analytics team in formulating and executing data-driven strategies, delivering insights and analytics to bolster business decision-making.
  • Encourage the adoption of advanced analytics and business intelligence tools to improve operational efficiency and competitive positioning.


• Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP):

  • Oversee the ERP team responsible for the Infor M3 system and legacy ERP solutions, ensuring peak performance, scalability, and integration with other business systems.
  • Manage ERP-related projects, upgrades, and implementations.


• Application Integrations and EDI:

  • Supervise the integration of various business applications and systems, ensuring seamless data exchange and interoperability.
  • Oversee EDI processes and integrations, facilitating efficient electronic transactions with business partners.


• Business Applications Management:

  • Manage the portfolio of business applications, ensuring they fulfill organizational needs and align with strategic objectives.
  • Assess and implement new applications and technologies to enhance business processes and drive innovation.


• Business Relationship Management:

  • Serve as a liaison between IT and business units, comprehending their requirements and ensuring IT services and solutions are aligned with business objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, providing strategic guidance and support.


• Application Software Development Oversight:

  • Direct daily operations within the organization's application software development function, overseeing a team responsible for designing, building, testing, deploying, maintaining, and supporting applications.
  • Establish functional application requirements and review solutions to ensure they meet organizational needs.
  • Ensure compliance with software development best practices and standards.
  • Develop short- and long-term product roadmaps to guarantee continuous improvement of applications.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of management experience in IT, focusing on applications development and management.
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of one or more related fields or departments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams and managing multiple IT functions, including PMO, BI and Analytics, ERP, Application Integrations, EDI, .Net Development, Business Applications, and Business Relationship Management.
  • Strong understanding of ERP systems; specific experience with Infor M3 is advantageous but not mandatory.
