POSITION SUMMARY
Under the guidance of the Director of Title III and the Executive Director of Student Success and Engagement, this role involves delivering exceptional customer service to students, staff, and visitors while supporting the Student Success and Engagement (SSE) department and Title III initiatives. Responsibilities include reception duties, office management, and administrative assistance to the SSE team, contributing to the operational efficiency and innovative strategies that align with the mission of Marion Technical College.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to various student services within the SSE department, including advising, disability services, tutoring, and testing. Manage incoming communications, direct inquiries, and maintain organized schedules for staff.
- Assess student advising requests and coordinate appointments. Review academic records to confirm student status and assist with enrollment outreach efforts.
- Ensure proficiency in software systems utilized by the College. Act as the administrator for student engagement platforms, assisting with data management and reporting.
- Participate in departmental meetings, documenting minutes and action items, and assisting in the preparation of progress reports.
- Supervise student employees, managing schedules and performance while maintaining a front desk manual.
- Assist with procurement processes and budget management for the department.
- Support the planning and execution of SSE programs and events, including managing registrations and feedback collection.
- Maintain an inventory of departmental materials and ensure that documentation is current.
- Respond to inquiries from students and staff while upholding confidentiality standards.
- Engage in professional development to enhance skills and contribute to departmental goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
An Associate's degree in business, office administration, or a related field is required; a Bachelor's degree is preferred. A minimum of three years of relevant administrative experience and strong customer service skills are essential. Experience in higher education is highly desirable.
Strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment are required. Candidates should demonstrate attention to detail and the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
