About the Job

MU Health Care is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sleep Technician Trainee to join our team in the Sleep Disorder Center. As a Sleep Technician Trainee, you will play a crucial role in assisting with various sleep studies and learning fundamental neurodiagnostic technology skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Explain test procedures to patients and provide psychological support to ensure quality test results.
  • Differentiate patient cooperation and procedure quality for interpretive analysis.
  • Perform scoring and long-term monitoring review as requested.
  • Communicate patient psychological status and environmental conditions to physicians for consideration in interpreting test results.
  • Adapt test methods and instrumentation to obtain optimal patient results.
  • Clean, calibrate, and process neurophysiology equipment.
  • Recognize medically emergent situations and take appropriate actions.
  • Complete necessary documentation and billing.
  • Perform limited office, secretarial, and patient transport duties.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include six months of experience in a hospital setting, Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, and additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
